Awesome speedy delivery! Really happy with it.

I held off for 3 months before taking the new Hummingbird for a spin to write this review.

It took around 3-4 weeks to get to Singapore after placing the order.

Aesthetics:
There were some tiny paint cracks near the bottom bracket, likely from the folding mechanism that causes the rear triangle to rub against it. However, the frame's paint job is absolutely stunning—glossy and flawless. The Hummingbird logo and text are also well-protected with a nice finishing coat.

Riding experience:
As a Brompton user, I was really impressed with how the Hummingbird performed. It was super smooth, and to my surprise, it handled road humps a bit better than my Brompton with the standard suspension block.

Service:
Charlie provided top-notch service. I broke a bar end clip and asked for a replacement. Without any delay, he shipped it out, and I got it in just a few days.

Pros:
- Lightweight
- Great design
- Excellent service

Cons:
- The press-fit bottom bracket and crankset are rubbing against each other, which impacts performance. I managed to fix it by loosening the crankset cover and releasing the crankset, but it would be ideal if they upgraded to a better set that spins freely.

Navigating the site is pretty straightforward. Emails got responses, and my questions were addressed. I was informed about the anticipated arrival date in Australia. Everything was simple. Upon arrival, I had to pay the Australian GST, of course.

We had high hopes for Humming Bird, thinking they were a solid company. Their management and product quality seemed top-notch. However, we were let down when the two cartons arrived from DHL looking fine on the outside. Once we opened them up, we discovered a missing gel saddle and a broken seat holder. They completely shrugged off any responsibility, claiming they weren’t liable for what happened during transit. It’s hard to believe items could go missing or get damaged when the cartons looked perfectly fine, sealed, and undamaged. We are really, really disappointed.

The delivery timeline was a mess:
1. 06/08/2021: Initially told it would take 4 to 6 weeks.
2. 16/09/2021: Got a notice about another delay of 4 weeks (totaling 10 weeks now).
3. 12/10/2021: Yet another update, this time adding 12 more weeks (making it 22 weeks altogether).
There was no proactive communication about these delays; I only got responses after sending multiple emails to inquire. This kind of poor management is really misleading for customers.

These Hummingbird bikes are made with great craftsmanship and really stand out. They also handle like a dream. I recently got the bike bag, and it arrived quickly. It's super practical and offers solid protection for the bike while on the go.

I can't give a full 5 stars since my order faced a few initial hiccups, but the company sorted them out fast. I’m really liking the bike, but I’ve got a couple of questions regarding how to fold it down to the tiniest size, like taking off the front wheel and securing it to the frame as your manual suggests. The gear sizes seem way bigger than what you mentioned in your description. I’ll take a closer look at the gearing tomorrow. However, I’m not too happy with the courier you chose, DHL. They seem to be relying on outdated delivery methods.

Riding the Hummingbird is an absolute blast. But if you’re looking to keep a low profile, this bike ain’t for you. It’s definitely a showstopper and gets people talking, that’s for sure.

Huge shoutout to Charlie!! He’s super patient, really helpful, and just a joy to deal with. Not at all pushy, he just gives you a gentle nudge in the right direction and shares tons of valuable insights along the way.

In my opinion, while Brompton made folding bikes popular, Hummingbird is taking them into the future.

I picked up one of their electric folding bikes and it’s a blast to cruise around on. It definitely turns heads.

I went with the custom color choice, and they were really patient and super helpful in creating the bike, providing me with multiple mock-ups so I could visualize how it would appear before finalizing the design. The end product was even more impressive than the mock-ups!
